With the latest PlayStation 4 update, Sony has made it possible to play remotely on iOS devices! PS4 Remote Play has been available for quite some time on PC, Mac and Sony phones, but this new update will bring the feature to a much larger audience. Remote Play can be used to play your PS4 games while on the go, as long as you have a decent WiFi connection as it doesn’t work on mobile connections.
There are virtual buttons on your device’s screen, but for most games you’ll want a full controller. The big downside is there isn’t support for the DualShock 4 controller, so you’ll have to settle for a MFi controller like the SteelSeries Nimbus. In addition, the mic on your iOS device can be used for chatting in game. The default resolution for streaming is 540p, but the PS4 can stream up to 720P. If you have a PS4 Pro, you will be able to stream up to 1080P.
You can get the app now off the App Store.
